Last Bath

She had sat on the edge of the tub
Watching the water rise up
Fully clothed

She was not planning to take a bath
But at least she'd be going somewhat clean

She tied a brick around her neck
And slowly lowered herself
No need to hold her breath
She would not fight it

All you could hear was running water
Spilling over the edge
With a life-less form near the bottom

It was easy to identify her
For she didn't take off the necklace
Her boyfriend had given her
